I sit here in the computer lab and listen to the tap of keys throughout the classroom. Not a student talks but I think all of them are sharing their voice.
Today is our first attempt at designing individual blogs. I feel this will be a good platform for the student to use to reflect on work and be able to share what they have learned throughout the year. This week has been jam packed with the 5th graders learning new things. They have grown tremendously as students and people in the past 3 weeks. I am extremely proud of all of them.
Teacher tip for today: Sometimes I have to in act some tough rules. As we work on this project, we are under the NO QUESTIONS rule. This is so tough for 5th grade kids. I always explain it's not that I do not want to talk to you or help you but it is best sometimes if you struggle through the work and figure it out on your own. I always tell them the proverb "give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will survive for a lifetime."
